Emergence

As human beings we have the innate desire to dissect our surroundings in order to better define the unknown. Historically, we have searched for our answers in religion, the stars, and in the observable phenomena of our natural world. In modern times, the scientific method aids us in revealing patterns that better our understanding of the world in which we live. However, theories and collected data are only predictions and translations of the world around us. This calculated understanding of our environment remains an abstraction of the reality that we experience with our senses—it is not an objective truth.
Like the production of artworks stemming from the life and experience of the artist, through these scientific abstractions produced by vast data sets and analysis, new information is revealed that might otherwise go unseen by the human eye.
